We’ve secured ONE place in one of the most prestigious marathons in the world – could it be yours?
We have one charity place available for a keen runner to take part in the 2025 London Marathon – one of ‘The Big 5’ global marathons! If you’ve always wanted to take part in this popular event, here’s your chance to secure a place.
What you need to know:
- Date: Sunday, 27th April 2025
- Minimum sponsorship needed: £2,000
- Deadline for applications: Thursday, 5th December 2024 at 4pm
- Successful applicant contacted: Friday, 6th December 2024
How to apply:
To be in with a chance of securing your place in the 2025 London Marathon, send us a video – no longer than one minute in length – with why you’d like to run this epic event on behalf of our charity.
The names of everyone who submits a video will be entered into a generator and the successful applicant will be chosen at random on Friday 6th December 2024.
We will then contact the winner to inform them that they’ve been allocated our charity place, and to lace up their running shoes and start training ahead of the 26.2 mile marathon, which takes runners past many of the capital’s iconic landmarks.
Send your video to our team via cs@leukaemiamyelomaresearchuk.org by 4pm on Thursday 5th December 2024.

Once the successful applicant has been contacted and confirmed their place, we will share their video on our website and social media platforms, with a link to your fundraising page.
We will share regular training updates and photos with our LMRUK community to support you in the lead up to the big event, and share your story on our website with why you’ve chosen to run on behalf of our charity.

Top tips for filming on your mobile phone
- Give your front camera lens a wipe with a cloth to avoid smudges
- Ensure you’re positioned near good lighting (no light directly behind you). It usually works well if you are looking towards a window
- Keep your phone vertical, so the video is portrait
- Position yourself so we can see you clearly (head and shoulders on screen)
- Put your phone on do not disturb mode.
