Parents Guide to Cord Blood Foundation

Parents Guide to Cord Blood Foundation is an independent website that contains a wealth of information about cord stem cells, what they can be used for today, the clinical trials and experimental trials that are being carried out looking into the potential use of these cells in the future. It also discusses the options of public and private banking. It was set up in 1998 by Dr Fran Verter after she sadly lost her daughter Shai to Leukaemia. The WMDA

The World Marrow Donor Association is a voluntary organisation of representatives of blood stem cell donor registries, cord blood banks, other organisations and individuals with an interest in blood stem cell transplantation.WMDA has grown into a global association, representing 75 donor registries, 158 cord blood banks, 350 donor centres, and 1,615 transplant hospitals from 52 different countries.

Mission – WMDA fosters international collaboration to facilitate the exchange of high quality blood stem cells for clinical transplantation worldwide and to promote the interests of donors.

Vision – WMDA works towards the goal that high quality and secure blood stem cell products are available for all patients worldwide while maintaining the health and welfare of the blood stem cell donors.

EuroStemCell

EuroStemCell has been set up to help European citizens make sense of stem cells. It provides independent, expert-reviewed information and road-tested educational resources on stem cells and their impact on society.
