An electrical wholesale business has raised an incredible £12,500 for our charity after a close friend of the Managing Director was diagnosed with Myeloma.

More than 100 golfers, including staff members from Moss Electrical Co Ltd and many of their clients and suppliers, took part in the company’s annual charity golf day in July. Funds were raised through an auction and a raffle.

Marketing Executive Hope Martin said: “It was a successful event and there were lots of opportunities during the day for people to give generously to the charity.”

Moss Electrical Managing Director, Lindsay Goubel suggested LMRUK as the charity to support in 2025 after a close friend of hers was diagnosed with Myeloma last year.

Lindsay said: “I chose this charity purely for personal reasons. Myeloma came into my life very abruptly in early 2024 when my best friend and “ride or die” for 37 years, was diagnosed with advanced Multiple Myeloma.

“We thought she had just hurt her back whilst snowboarding and were not even close to being ready to receive the news that it was cancer.

“What followed was nothing short of terrifying: extended hospital stays, radio and chemotherapy, back braces and then a stem cell transplant over Christmas.

“Thankfully, my best friend has made a remarkable recovery and is responding well to the maintenance therapy. Whilst all our worlds will never be the same and her time with me spent throwing ourselves down a mountain may be over, we are certainly not done adventuring yet!”

Dartford, Kent-based Moss Electrical employs around 50 people at its headquarters and organised the golf day at The London Golf Club in Sevenoaks. Moss Electrical also has branches in Manchester and Bridgend, South Wales.

Dr Joanna Tilley, our Operations Director, said: “This is such a magnificent donation to receive. We are so grateful to all the staff and clients at Moss Electrical who put on such a great fundraising event.

“It is always a shock when friends and family receive a diagnosis of blood cancer, but it is wonderful to see how so many respond with support for charities like ours which concentrate on research into treatment and potential cures for these devastating conditions.”
